We start back at square one each year and each year we come back to the beginning of God's plan. We come back to the Passover, the covenant that we make with God, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the journey towards our ultimate inheritance. God makes sure that we start our year off right so we come back. We can hit the reset button. We start to see these events all take place once again. God makes sure that we don't forget what we're doing here. We don't forget what this is all about and it can be so easy, especially after the Passover, the Days of Unleavened Bread, even that night after the Passover after you've taken the bread and the wine after. For me one of the things I've mentioned before that I enjoy taking the bread that's leftover, we do burn it that evening, we disp ...

You know the Bible states that without faith that it is impossible to please God. We need to understand that and think about that. We will today during the sermon because we're going to be talking about faith and I know we've had many sermons over the years about faith, but let's have one more today. Let's think together, let's look at some scriptures and understand about faith. What faith is, how we're to have faith, how we're to keep faith so that we can be pleasing to God. If you do not have faith, we do have human faith, but we don't have the very faith of Jesus Christ that comes through being baptized and having hands laid upon you and receiving God's Holy Spirit. We must have that faith. ...

Topic of the Sermon today is: What Is the Most Important Factor in Child Rearing? What Is the Most Important Factor in Child Rearing? And I gave a sermon a while back in Church of God Assembly about child rearing and covered a lot of aspects of it. But what's the most important factor? As a parent what is your number one responsibility according to God and the Bible with raising children? Do you even know? How are you doing in this important God given responsibility? And parents take note that you are primarily responsible to raise your children, no one else. It's not the Church's responsibility to raise your children, it's yours and God gave you the responsibility. We certainly can assist with youth programs and even Sabbath services. Our kids are here, they're paying attention, ...

You know war has been constant throughout history. Many have been conscripted into the armies of men for thousands of years. It's nothing new, even down to this very day. And actually war has become a reality or a way of life for many. War has become, again as I said a way of life. How about us? Has it become a way of life for us? Now you know, you're probably thinking Isaiah 2, Verse 4 talking about the future when we will not learn war anymore but we're not there yet. Whether we want to admit to it or not we are in an all-out war. Satan is still on his throne, he has not been put away yet. ...

As you just heard, Mr. Monson and I just returned from the Philippines. It was a wonderful trip. We had such a tremendous time. He mentioned talk about you know being as close as we are, I'm glad we get the opportunity to do it together. We're not alone in that. It's a crazy wild adventure and even though things can be difficult and frustrating at times in the process, it's still great to have a brother and friend there along your side. So very thankful for that. We do have kind of as an intro to the Sermon, we've got about a 10 minute video to show you. So if you want to draw your attention here to the screen, if we can have Mr. Steve Scarborough, if you go ahead a queue up the video. Just sit back relax and take a look. ...

You know some years ago I had an experience I wanted to relate before I get into the body of want I want to speak about. But I was down at my place of business and one of the employees came rather briskly walking toward me I could see he was concerned, kind of distraught and you know I'm always apprehensive when I see that look in someone's face especially employee. What happened? Was there was an accident, was there a wreck, what happened? He came right up to my truck and paused for a moment and he said,"What it is that you believe?" And it was like he was bothered, I don't know exactly what was going on in his life. But I questioned him, what do you mean? I was caught off guard by that question and you know, what do you believe? Because they, all the employees were taught to bring ...

I was preparing my sermon, those of you who give sermons and sermonettes know how, you know how this feels. As you're preparing a sermon it takes time, you meditate on it and putting scriptures together and whatnot. And so anyway when I was doing this for about a week and a half or so I got so many pages you know, just slow process right? And Mike Kreyer he gets up and speaks the same subject that I was going to talk on, speak on and you did a great job Mike. And so anyway, I had to start all over again. It takes me about a year to put something together and it feels like 10 years. But anyway, I've got something together and I figured well let me do this and let me do that and do this and it ended up with The Sermon on the Mount and low and behold Mr. Fritts come out and gave a beautif ...

Okay, moving on with the Sermon here today. Let's begin by turning over to 2nd Thessalonians, Chapter 2 and Verse 3 is where we'll begin. It says, let no one deceive you by any means for that day will not come unless the falling away comes first and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition. Two things have to happen before Christ returns, if you go back to Verse 1 you can see the context here before the return of Jesus Christ. One a falling away has had to occur, Paul said. An Apostasy is the Greek word used a defection from truth, departure from faith. These are not people that were uncalled that are defecting because they can't fall away from something they never had. ...

Well, I am going to go ahead and hop in the Sermon here. Each of us has a unique mission, a unique mission to demonstrate who God is through our individual lives. To demonstrate who God is through our individual lives. Each and every day of our lives. We talked about love, we talk a lot about family. I appreciate Mr. Atkinson there talking about honoring your parents. Again, Godly living, simple principles and precepts that really do matter. This is a big, big deal. Okay, it's a big deal, the fact that we have simple things that still define who we are. they define our character, what we're doing each and every day. What you do, what you say, how you live, it really does matter. Love and family is the answer to every conflict to our life's mission. The one thing we gotta get right ...

Well this afternoon I'd like to talk about a subject that really affects us from the time we're old enough to ride a bike until we're breathing our last breath. It's a subject that's been slowly quenched for the last 20 years, like the proverbial frog in a hot boiling pot of water. The world, our new world order which is really not new, is part of a thought process and is brainwashing all of us and is slowly taking away from us the drive and responsibility, hope and endurance that God wants us to have. The subject today is Leadership and having been in business for 31 years now, it'll be actually 30, yeah 31 years now. January 1st would be 30, I started January 31st right before I turned 30, 31 years ago. All of us have been in the construction field, I'm a painting contracto ...

I want us to begin the Sermon by going over to Daniel, Chapter 6. This clearly is an example that we have used many times in the Church. It's not a new example, but I want to point something out here in Daniel, Chapter 6 and we're going to begin reading in Verse 3, says then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governor's and satraps because of an excellent spirit was in him and the King gave thought to setting him over the whole Realm. So the King really liked Daniel and He also had respect for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego after they stood up and did the right thing and would not bow down to the idol. These young men God was working with in a powerful way and they were just like any other young man except God gave them some special talents and abilities. ...

As we heard in the Sermonette it's pretty interesting how it all kind of ties together here, but we say we see a world spinning out of control at an alarming rate. And it's left many asking the question, where are the men and women of character today? Where are they? Where are the men and women of character today? How about the great Generals of war, where are they? Where are the just Judges in this land? It's not to say they all are unjust, but there's very few. What about the Prophets or teachers of God? What's happened to them? How about the Wise men? They are today scorned. Our society looks down on them because of their age. They're stuffed off in some corner. ...

So for the sermon, last week I made a quick trip to Kansas City to be at the funeral for Mr. Skip Stephenson. I certainly didn't know him as well as most of the close friends and family there in the room, but I always enjoyed seeing Skip and spending time, the time that we shared. He was always someone I looked forward to seeing. And some people are like that, you just see them and they light up a room, they're infectious and he certainly was like that. He worked at the Living Church of God headquarters for a while and he was somebody easy to talk to. He was so positive, again I looked forward to seeing him and each every time. I think about it and sometimes I wish I would have told him in person, it's one of those things where sometimes we just don't say those things to each other ...

I have a question for each and every one of you. You may think what a strange question. Well, I'm a strange individual. I ask strange questions, you can give me a strange answer but actually don't answer. Are you walking with God? Of course I am, that's why I'm here. I'm on the Sabbath, I'm walking with God. Turn over to Genesis, Chapter 5, if you will please. We're going to be talking today about walking with God, if we're walking with God. How are we to walk with God and why some stop walking with God. Have you seen that over the years? In my period of time in the church I've seen people stop walking. Why is that? We'll see, hopefully we can answer that question. Genesis, Chapter 5, Verse 21, Enoch lived 65 years and begot Methuselah. ...

But anyways, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving time. Time to reflect and I know for the United States of course it's on a Thursday here, I think fourth, fourth, third Thursday of the month. Third? Okay. Anyways and I know our brethren, our cousins to the north in Canada, I think they celebrated in October. They have Thanksgiving day and then some of our European brethren also and so it is a time, time to reflect. Especially for us it is a time when the seasons are coming to an end. It was a time to reflect back and as our harvest has concluded and what kind of a year it was and the harvest season is always a special time of the year. ...
