Sound The Alarm

Well its official, this week we witnessed the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States. President Joseph Biden, only the second catholic in history of our nation was sworn in on a bible kept in his family for generations. Like nearly all of his predecessors he invoked the name of God throughout his address. He then had a protestant pastor an African, Methodist, Episcopalian give the benediction asking God to bless the ceremony and the transfer of power. The President bowed his head in a moment of apparent devotion and prayer, again tipping his hat to God. He even received a message of encouragement from Pope Francis himself who wrote "On the occasion of your inauguration as the 46th President of the United States of America, I extend cordial good wishes in the assurance of m ...

A Storm Is Coming

Well good afternoon happy Sabbath, hope you are having a wonderful day I know with everything that is happening in the country right now, is a lot taking place and it's wonderful that God gives us an opportunity to be here together on the Sabbath, how much that means for all of us to put all that aside and come together and worship Him, so again, it's wonderful to be here. I'm going to go ahead and jump right in, how often, how often do we think about the end, is that too depressing or do we even consider that that might be a possibility, are we close? Will Christ return in our lifetime, or is everything going to keep going on like this forever? Before the Great Tribulation and the time of Satan's wrath, before the Day of the Lord, the time of God's wrath, there is a gathering st ...

Tomorrow We Become God

Yesterday we buried my grandfather and it would have been his 95th birthday. Make no doubt about it he lived a long and full life through what I would certainly call miraculous deliverance by God. He did fight in World War II. I know some of you are familiar with that, many of you have met him before. And then when he was fighting in World War II a grenade came and left him unconscious and he wound up waking up in England 9 days later, but the rest of his unit never came home. My grandfather was the only survivor. In many days this week the family reflected on his life. He was a Patriarch for us. We told stories, we laughed, we cried, of course shouldn't we? That's what this time is for, but the thing that sticks with me is the simple fact that were he not protected. ...

We Are Not of Those Who Draw Back

I want to get into the sermon and now I'll tell you what the title is. The title is: "We Are Not of Those Who Draw Back" and I want to look at some verses in the bible that are especially important for the day and age in which we live at a time at the end shortly before the return of Jesus Christ. We're not setting dates, but we do know when we look at the world and the state of the world around us, the state of our nation that time is short. God said in the gospel accounts that when you see the trees begin to bud you know that, look it's Spring, Summer is near. The signs are there and we're beginning to see signs on the entire world stage that show us, hey end time prophecy is beginning to happen. And one of the things that I have noticed as I was studying these scriptures in the ...

Keeping the Sabbath

Today it's been a busy week needless to say. We were up way into the early morning hours, many nights getting loaded and packed and I could tell you all the stories and how the movers didn't get there until dark. They were supposed to be there in the morning and they came after sunset so we were moving until 2 and 3 in the morning. A couple nights loading trucks and things but we got through it. And I thought what do I speak about so this morning I wrote a sermon for today. It's been just no time and very busy but I felt like let's pick a topic that I know a lot about and something is very important. We need to remind ourselves of its importance on a regular basis anyway. I want to talk about keeping the Sabbath and doing that in a way that God would be pleased with. ...

How to Have Godly Children in an Ungodly World

Today I want to give a sermon on a topic that I think is really fitting with the number of weddings we're having here right now. It's a family sermon. I want to talk about how to have Godly children in an Ungodly world and give a sermon on raising kids and the importance of it. The answers by the way on how to have a Godly family, how to have a happy family are found in the pages of the Bible. This is a very important topic and God didn't leave us without verses on the topic. He gives us plenty of guidance on how to be good parents and good grandparents. Do we realize the enormous responsibility and importance that God places on us as parents and I would say grandparents as well, in raising His Children. That's right, they're His Children, the bible says. And God has loaned them ...

Hold Fast To What You Have

I want to get right into the sermon here today though. I'd like to begin by just turning to a verse in the Book of Revelation, Revelation, Chapter 3 and Verse 11 and really the title from the sermon comes right out of this verse, this verse simply says "Behold I come quickly, hold fast what you have that no one may take your crown. So the title of the Sermon today is: Hold Fast What You Have. Jesus Christ said that he would be with his church until the end of time. That He would build his Church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it or the gates of hades, the gates of the grave. In other words it would always exist down through time until Jesus Christ came back to the earth. And we read this in Matthew 16, Verse 18 and yet scarcely 20 years after the crucifixion of Jesu ...

Watch and Pray

Okay, let's get right into the sermon here, most of you know what the doomsday clock is. You've probably heard of it, probably not so much for our younger people but according to the doomsday clock it now stands at 100 seconds to midnight which signals the most dangerous situation humanity has ever faced. That is the closest it's ever been since 1953 at the height of the Cold War. Each year the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, a non-profit group that sets the clock, decides whether the events of the previous year push humanity closer to or further from destruction. The closer to midnight we are the more danger we are in according to the group. The clock conveys how close we are to destroying our civilization with dangerous technologies of our own making. ...

Continuing the Development of the House of God

So we're going to go ahead and jump into the Sermon here. Yesterday I've been trying to get ready. You all know that we are of course moving, trying to get ready to go down to Tennessee and it's quite a bit to do but every once in a while I've got to stop and write a Sermon. Evidently that's still required. So I was sitting outside yesterday, I do like to write when I'm outside. I like to be outdoors, something about looking outside and nothing between me and the sky and the clouds I just like it. I like to hear the different sounds, all of that and yesterday I noticed that the leaves were falling. I mean, one of them fell just right down beside me, it's kind of one of those moments where you stop for a second and like, what was that, what just happened? Well, OK the leaves a ...

The Good Shepherd

All right the title of the Sermon today for those who write down titles is called The Good Shepherd. How many of you have seen a flock of sheep? How many of you, I might ask have held a baby lamb in your arms? I dare say that most of you have not and the reason that you probably have not held a baby lamb in your arms is because most of us do not live on farms these days. And it's sometimes difficult for people who live in the city who haven't had any experience on a farm with animals to relate to some of the verses that we find in the Bible and some of the examples that we have in scripture. There's often a disconnect and sometimes there's a disconnect even between leadership and the people under that leadership because they're not in touch with people under their care or under t ...

The Dramatic Return of Jesus Christ

Today I want to talk about the dramatic or the absolutely spectacular return of Jesus Christ. The average person in the world today believes that this is a fable that Christ is not coming back, that that is something only crazy people think and say. However, there are a number of professing Christians and again they're called professing Christians, not God's people, that expect the second coming of Christ but they're very divided among themselves as to why He comes, how He comes and when He comes as the conquering King of Kings. And so I want to cover this subject today. I also want to review some pretty fundamental teachings in our literature and also from the Bible regarding the Feast of Trumpets. ...

The Righteous Are As Bold As A Lion

All right let's get into the sermon here today and if you're someone who takes notes what I'm about to talk about will fit in quite well with Mr. Serson's Sermonette. The title of the sermon is The Righteous are as Bold as a Lion and I want to go to Proverbs 28 to start here, Proverbs 28 and Verse 1 and see what the Bible says I think this scripture is very appropriate for the days in which we live. Of course it's been appropriate all along and applicable but especially at this time in history. It says in Proverbs 28, Verse 1 it says the wicked flee when no one pursues but the righteous are bold as a lion. As Mr. Serson mentioned taking a stand is never easy, it's easy to go with the flow. ...

Faith, Unity, and Preparation

I'm going to kind of jump right in here, these are difficult times for the Church of God. Many of God's people are hurting in one way or another right now. There is contention, there is heartache in the body and we all hurt in moments like these. It's something I think that we can talk about maybe spend some time on going through today. We each are working out our own salvation with fear and trembling and we must continue to evaluate and examine ourselves as we go through this process. We have to evaluate and examine our relationship with our Creator. We trust that he will correct us, that he will shape us and mold us and he prepares us for what lies ahead and there is a time right now that the Bride is to make herself ready. ...

One of God's Greatest Gifts

I'll get right on into the sermon at this time, the title, if you write titles is "One of God's Greatest Gifts". This is a message I've given here recently it's not going to be exactly the same, but it's a very important message that I think needs to go out at this time and it's a message that the world really needs to hear as well. There are many professing Christians in the world today that view God's law as a burden and they claim it was nailed to the cross. They claim that we no longer need to keep it, that Christ does it all for us, all we need to do is just believe and besides they say we can't keep it anyway so what's the point in trying. How do you view God's law? How do I view it? Is God's law a blessing to you or a curse? Can we keep it? Are we able to do so ...

Obey God Rather Than Men

Today I want to get into another topic that's a very important topic here at the time of the end and it's been an important topic in the Church of God all through history from the inception of the Church of God and even with the children of Israel, the congregation of Israel in the wilderness. And when we look at people in the Church of God, people that God has called out of the world, we see that the members of the church have their minds when they're called, minds open to understand the words written in the Bible. And when your mind is open, when God calls you and opens your mind to the truth, you then and I then know what is right and what is wrong and we use the Bible for the basis of our beliefs and what we're convicted of. We don't lean to science for the answers. ...
