Romans 15:7 - Romans 16:27

Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Friday night Bible Study. Tonight we're going to wrap up the last two chapters in the Book of Romans and then next Bible Study, next Friday night we'll get into the Book of 1st Corinthians, the Epistle of 1st Corinthians. So let's begin where we left off last time. We're here in Romans 15, Verse 7. It says, Therefore receive one another just as Christ also received us to the glory of God. So he starts off, therefore he introduces here the conclusion of a discussion that began back in Chapter 14 and Verse 1. And the command to receive one another is addressed to all of us who believe in and to all who believe back then, the people that he was speaking to. Verse 8, now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth ...

Romans 13:1 - Romans 15:6

Well, good evening everyone and welcome to the Bible Study here once again on Friday night. Tonight we'll be covering Chapters 13 and 14 of the Book of Romans and maybe even get into the initial verses of Chapter 17. As I mentioned this Epistle is taking a little bit more time. We're laying a foundation on some fundamental doctrines and teachings as we've gone along and that'll save us time when we get to the same ones and future letters. Let's go to Verse 1, Romans 13, it says; Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities for there is no authority except from God and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. When Paul wrote this letter, Nero was in power and yet Paul even in that case exhorted the Roman believers to submit to Nero's authority because that auth ...

Romans 11:1 - Romans 12:21

Well, good evening everyone. Welcome to the Friday evening Bible study here again on Friday night, January 13th. It's hard to believe we're zipping through Romans like this, we're into Chapter 11 and 12. We'll go through two chapters here tonight and once we finish it looks like we'll have two more studies to wrap up the Book of Romans. We'll jump right into the next Epistle, obviously Romans is one of those books that can be difficult to understand. It takes, I'm taking a little bit more time than I will have to in some of the Epistles because we're laying a groundwork or foundation of what is you know, justification? What is grace and how are we reconciled to God and what is the word propitiation mean and how does that fit into the scheme of things? What is the topic of p ...

Romans 9:6 - Romans 10:21

Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Friday night Bible Study. So let's get on with the Bible Study here tonight, we are going to pick up where we left off. We're back here in Romans 9, we got up to Verse 6 and that's where we ended and we see that Paul is addressing the Church at Rome. There are certainly Jews in the Church, there are also Gentiles that God is calling into the Church and he's addressing some of the problems that existed in the thinking of the Jews as well as the other Israelite's as well as Gentiles. And he addresses both sides of the issue and as we go through Romans he talks a lot about our calling and the fact that some are called now and others will be called later. And that it's up to God to decide who to call and when to call, whom He will call. ...

Romans 8:23 - Romans 9:5

Well, good evening again. Welcome to the last Bible study here in 2022. This year has flown by and then we'll jump into 2023. All right, I'm going to get right into where we left off last time in Romans Chapter 8 and we broke off at Verse 23. So that's where we'll start. I don't know that we're going to get very far into Chapter 9 tonight just because there's so much to cover in the last bit of this chapter as you'll see. But let's see how far we get. Let's start with Verse 23, Romans Chapter 8. It says: That not only they but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit even we ourselves grown within ourselves eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Paul has just written about even the creation and how it yearns for renewing and for Christ to c ...

Love and Family Is the Answer

Tonight I would like to start with a couple quick reminders. Before the Great Tribulation, before things get really bad, there are a few events that take place in sequence. We're not going to go through tons and tons of things tonight I promise, but I do want to review this very briefly as kind of an introduction. So if you would turn with me to Luke, Chapter 21. There are things that we want to watch out for, we want to pay attention to these world events. And young people, senior members wherever you're at, wherever you're from, if you don't know this general sequence, it's important. These events right here at the end and I'm talking about very specific ones, it's going to be something you want to look for perhaps not look forward to but something you want to look for and ...

Romans 7:1 - Romans 8:22

Well, welcome everybody to the Friday Night Bible Study here once again. All right let's go to Romans Chapter 7, I want to before I start though just quickly review. In Chapter 1 in the Book of Romans we see that Paul primarily was addressing the Gentiles and when we get into Chapter 2 we see he is primarily addressing the Jews and Paul was dealing with a split there in Rome. There was some Gentiles certainly is Rome and there were some Jews that he was also addressing that were a part of the church. Some of them were not a part of the church, but the ones that were that he wrote the letter to he was addressing those. We see in Chapter 3 that we can only be justified by Christ. We see that the world is cut off but we are able to receive redemption through Christ. ...

Romans 5:1 - Romans 6:23

Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Friday evening Bible study. All right we covered Romans, Chapters 1,2,3 and 4 and as we get into Chapter 5 we see that Paul goes on to explain the wonderful benefits of being justified or being made right with God or being declared righteous in his sight, is with the word justified means. Some have asked as we've gone through this various questions, because when you get into Paul's writings, Paul can be misunderstood and certainly is misunderstood by the mainstream Protestant denominations of the world. Paul talks about justification and Paul talks a lot about grace and other concepts that people frankly misunderstand. When we talked about Abraham being justified by faith or declared righteous in that way, some people then think or go to the extrem ...

Romans 3:9 - Romans 4:25

Well good evening everybody. Welcome to the Friday evening Bible study here. Hard to believe we're into December already of 2022, December 2nd to be exact. We're going to pick up where we left off in Romans, Chapter 3 and Verse 9 and notice what it says, Verse 9, what then are we, the Jews, better than they, the Gentiles. Paul said, not all all for we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. So Paul admitted that the Jews had important advantages in some respects, but he also said that these advantages didn't make a difference between the Jews and Gentiles with regard to justification. He said we've all failed to keep the law, the Jews and the Gentiles, we're all sinners and if we are to be justified it must be in the same way as the rest of hum ...

Romans 1:29 - Romans 3:10

Good evening everyone. Welcome back to Friday night Bible Studies here. It's really great to be going through the Epistles of Paul. We're starting here in the Book of Romans, our 2nd Bible Study for the year. Tonight we're going to finish up Chapter 1, we got well into Chapter 1 and we'll get into Chapter 2 and then maybe even part of Chapter 3, but we'll just continue to work through Paul's letters to his Epistles. This is an Epistle to the Romans. Rome was a key city as we mentioned already. But tonight I want to pick up where I left off in Verse 28 of Chapter 1, here in the Book of Romans and as we go through these Epistles and as we go through this particular Epistle to the church at Rome, I want you to notice that Paul doesn't do away with the law. Many people in the wor ...

Romans 1:1 - Romans 1:28

Well, good evening everybody. Welcome back to the Friday evening Bible Studies. Really looking forward to this year, glad that we can get into the Epistles of Paul. Before I begin there are a couple handouts that will be making available. We're actually working on a new website. We appreciate what Mark Scarborough built for us but we're actually having a company design and build a new website for CGA that we'll own and have on servers and multiple locations. And we'll be posting some of the documents that I'll mention here tonight on the new site. We may not get them up until then. One of them is the Holy Bible in its original order and I'll talk about that in just a minute. The other one will be 16 of the most important places in the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul. ...

Acts 27:1 - Acts 28:31

Well, hello everyone! Welcome to the Bible Study here on Friday evening, March 11th. It's hard to believe that the Bible Study season has flown by as quickly as it has. But this last week for the time change and it works out just perfectly. We'll end up with Chapters 27 and 28 tonight. There's a few more verses so I'm sure we'll use the whole time to get through the material, but the very exciting last couple chapters that Luke was inspired to write here in the account of Acts. Okay, let's get into Verse 1, Acts 27 and we're now going to look at Paul's voyage or trip to Rome and it's an exciting trip. These are a couple really exciting chapters here to close the Book of Acts. Verse 1 and when it was decided that we should sail to Italy, they delivered Paul and some other ...

Acts 25:1 - Acts 26:32

Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Friday evening Bible Study here on March 4th, 2022. Tonight we'll do Chapter 25 and 26. These Chapters are a little bit shorter so we might actually end a little bit early here this evening. Okay, let's get into Chapter 25 here tonight. Let's begin in Verse 1 and we're going to start out with Paul appealing here to Caesar and we'll see how this goes. It says in Verse 1, now when Festus had come to the Province after 3 days he went up to Caesarea to Jerusalem. So the Jews had hated Felix. Felix was the one who is the governor before Festus and they had wrote letters to Rome and they had really detailed their outrage over Felix's brutality against them. And as a result Felix was replaced by a new Governor and his name was Porcius Festus. ...

Acts 23:1 - Acts 24:27

Good evening everyone! Welcome again to Friday night Bible Study. Time is really slipping by, here we are already the end of February about to get into March. After this Bible Study we only have 2 remaining. We'll finish up the Book of Acts then and we'll take a break until next fall. Then we'll be of course all the camp Bible Studies, the Christian Living classes there, the Sermon and Bible Studies on those weekends. Mr. Fritts and others may also put together a few studies that we can sprinkle in throughout the year. We'll pick up another part of the New Testament in the fall, but it's been really fun going through the Book of Acts. I hope that you are learning some things. Certainly being reminded of some things you may have already known. ...

Acts 21:30 - Acts 22:30

Good evening, welcome to the Friday night Bible Study. Certainly glad to have all of you with us here again. This is one of the last few we'll have for the year, just 3 more after tonight and that'll wrap up our season of Bible Studies until next fall. Tonight we'll finish up Acts Chapter 21 and all of Chapter 22. We might end a little early, been a busy week, a lot going on but at least we can get to that point. And then we'll cover 2 chapters in the next 3 Bibles Studies to finish up the Book of Acts. We'll go right on into Acts Chapter 21 and pick up where we left off last time in Verse 30. It says, and all the city was disturbed and the people ran together seized Paul and dragged him out of the Temple and immediately the doors were shut. So they shut the doors of the Temple d ...
