 Yesterday we buried my grandfather and it would have been his 95th birthday. Make no doubt about it he lived a long and full life through what I would certainly call miraculous deliverance by God. He did fight in World War II. I know some of you are familiar with that, many of you have met him before. And then when he was fighting in World War II a grenade came and left him unconscious and he wound up waking up in England 9 days later, but the rest of his unit never came home. My grandfather was the only survivor. In many days this week the family reflected on his life. He was a Patriarch for us. We told stories, we laughed, we cried, of course shouldn't we? That's what this time is for, but the thing that sticks with me is the simple fact that were he not protected. ... |
